Gym Tracker
A social workout app — log your lifts, track your personal records, and react to your friends' sessions.
Gym Tracker at a glance
Gym Tracker started as a personal itch: workout apps are either cold spreadsheets or bloated social networks. One turns you into a data-entry clerk between sets; the other buries the two numbers you actually came for under a feed. This one keeps logging fast and makes progress feel social, without getting in the way of the actual workout.
What I built for Gym Tracker
A phone-first app for logging lifts in seconds: the set you are about to do is already on screen, carried over from last time, so recording it is a tap rather than a form. Personal records keep themselves and surface the moment you beat one, instead of waiting to be calculated. On top sits a light social layer — a timeline where friends' sessions appear and you can react to them. That turned out to be most of the motivation and, deliberately, none of the noise.
How Gym Tracker is doing
It opens on any phone straight from a link — no store listing, no install, no update waiting on someone's approval. Being a daily-use app rather than a portfolio piece is the honest test of it: the features that survived are the ones that hold up on a real gym floor, mid-set, with cold hands and bad signal. Everything else got cut. It is the same standard I hold client work to, applied to something nobody paid me to build.
